I am 5’7 123 pounds and 16 years old and i need to lose weight around my stomach i feel like i have love handles and a tummy although i am athletic and in ok shape and everything. If i tell my parents i want to lose weight then they will give me the speech about how i should be happy with my body..blah..blah..blah. I already eat low fat everything and do crunches and planks at least once a day. Is there any way to lose this weight its so frustrating??!!

How to lose thigh, butt and tummy fat?
January 25th, 2012Hi, I would like to lose a little tummy fat, but target my butt thighs. Do you know what foods and exercises I should eat and do in order to do this?
1. Do squats to shape, tone and increase the size of your butt. Squats are as simple as they sound. Stand with your feet slightly farther than shoulder-width apart. Keeping your head up and your back straight, bend your knees until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Don’t let your knees extend over your toes. Straighten your legs again. Do three sets of 10 to 15 repetitions with three- to five-minute rest periods in between. Add weight for increased results. Hold dumbbells in your hands or hold a barbell across your shoulders while doing squats.
2. Do lunges. Lunges make your butt muscles grow much the same way that squats do. When you do lunges, though, you use your muscles in a slightly different way. From a standing position, with both feet facing forward about shoulder-width apart, step forward–about two and a half to three and a half feet, depending on your leg length and fitness level–with one foot. Keeping your upper body perpendicular to the ground, bend your front knee as far as you can, or until your upper leg is parallel to the ground. The heel of your back foot will come off the ground, and your back knee will bend and lower toward the ground. Using the muscles in your forward leg, raise your body and move your forward foot back to standing position. Repeat with the other foot forward. Do three sets of 10 to 15 repetitions with three- to five-minute rest periods in between. Add weight for increased results, just as described for squats.

At 13 you won’t likely get abs. Sorry, but its the truth.
What you can do, however, is try to control your weight so that when your body develops enough to start getting abs, it will be easier.
Stomach fat is some of the hardest stuff to get rid of. A good diet and lots of exercise will help, but it really just takes time.
Make sure you keep your metabolism up and avoid sodas and sports drinks. This will help your body use the stuff in your food instead of store it as fat. Eat healthy, low fat stuff like tuna, chicken, wheat pasta, etc.
Do LOTS of cardio. I mean LOTS. Get to the point you can run a mile without getting super tired and then go for two. Make sure your heart rate gets up and stays up. I’ve heard people say its got to be above 180, but I have never heard a legit source say that so I can’t tell you if its true or not. After you run, do some biking, either on a stationary or real, its up to you.
Crunches, crunches crunches. Sit ups, sit ups, sit ups. 50 or 60 at a time. Make sure your variate your routines or you will plateau. Look up bridges, reverse crunches, V-sits, cross-crunches, basically Google "ab workout".
Make sure you target your obliques as well so you dont end up with love handles.
It is also important to remember that you need to give it time to work and not get discouraged. Like I said, at 13 you will likely not get Spartan abs, but you can bring your belly fat down to a manageable level for when you turn about 16 or so.

1. Eat Often
This should be a no brainer but some people literally have to set their Blackberry to beep when it is time to eat. When we eat we burn calories (thermogenic effect of eating) and we end up less hungry later. Skip meals and you are setting the stage to overeat at your next meal. So, do what it takes to remember to eat often.
2. Drink Green Tea
Green tea extract when combined with caffeine, increases energy expenditure (calories burned). Studies have also shown that habitual green tea consumers are better able to maintain their weight.
Researchers have theorized that weight maintenance is easier due to increased thermogenesis and fat oxidation. Tea has a multitude of other benefits as well so you can’t go wrong with adding tea to your diet. If you prefer, try an energy drink with green tea extract and caffeine
3. Be Wary Of Sugar Free Products
How many people do you know who chew packs of sugar free gum or candies so they won’t eat? Sounds like a good idea, especially the sugar free kind. The thing is, many sugar free gums and candies have sugar alcohols in them which can cause bloating and abdominal discomfort.
In large quantities, they can also cause a laxative effect in some people. Many sugar alcohols are known by their “-ol” ending: mannitol, sorbitol, xylitol, lactitol, maltitol. Mannitol is the worst offender when it comes to gas and bloating.
4. Quit Boozing
If you are going to drink alcohol, at least drink wine and get a few antioxidants. But seriously, cut the alcohol.
Do you know anyone who has ripped abs and still drinks on a regular basis (and yes, weekly counts as regularly!)? No, you don’t, unless they are a genetic freak of nature. And, if you were a genetic freak of nature with naturally rock-hard abs, you probably wouldn’t be reading this article.
